Signs of Summer at Honeydew Farm

Summer has a way of reminding us just how quickly things can change.

Only a week ago, we were carefully lifting thousands of snapdragons back to their feet after a powerful storm swept across the farm. This week, those same flowers are blooming, more fresh vegetables are making their way to market, and another project has been checked off our list.
Every week brings a new chapter, and this one is full of colorful blooms, growing harvests, finished projects, and quiet reminders to slow down and appreciate the season.
Here's what life looked like around Honeydew Farm this week.
Life on the Farm This Week
Life on the farm is never quite as predictable as the forecast.
Another storm rolled across the farm this week, bringing heavy clouds, flashes of lightning, and much-needed rain. Thankfully, this time the damage was minimal, and before long the sky rewarded us with one of the most beautiful rainbows we've seen all season.
Moments like these remind us that farming is built on faith, patience, and learning to appreciate what each day brings. We can't control the weather, but we can choose to pause and enjoy the beauty that often follows it.
Some of our favorite memories aren't planned at all—they're found in moments like these, standing in the yard after the rain has passed and simply taking in the view.
Signs of Summer at Honeydew Farm: Color on the Farm
One of the happiest sights on the farm this week has been seeing the snapdragons in full bloom.
Just days after recovering from last week's storm, the flower field is now filled with tall stems in shades of white, blush pink, deep crimson, and soft lavender. Watching them bounce back has been one of the most rewarding moments of the season.
Harvest days are becoming more colorful with every passing week, and our buckets are beginning to fill with fresh-cut blooms ready for market. Every bouquet reflects what's blooming at its peak, making each one a little different from the last.
These flowers are a reminder that sometimes the greatest beauty comes after the hardest days.
Projects Around the Farm
Another exciting project reached the finish line this week.
Our new chicken tractor is officially complete, and the chickens have settled into their new mobile home.
The tractor allows the flock to move across fresh pasture, giving them access to clean grass while naturally fertilizing the soil behind them. It's a simple idea that benefits both the birds and the land, and it's another step toward building the kind of sustainable farm we continue working toward.
Finishing one project simply makes room for the next, and that's part of the rhythm of life on the farm.
Summer Continues to Grow
Summer has settled into a steady rhythm across the farm.

Each week brings something a little different to the market table. As one crop finishes and another begins, the season continues to unfold with new harvests, fresh bouquets, and whatever the fields are ready to share.
This week we're excited to bring a limited supply of fresh snap peas to market alongside our fresh-cut flower bouquets, plant starts, and other seasonal favorites.
One of our favorite things about farming is watching the season unfold one harvest at a time. No two weeks are exactly alike, and our market table continues to change as each crop reaches its peak.
Thank you for making Honeydew Farm part of your summer. Whether you're visiting for flowers, fresh vegetables, or simply to see what's new each week, we're grateful to share the season with you.
